THE MIGHTY BLOOM

2025 had all the hallmarks of a great summer. The heat, the small berries, the concentration.

But Canon rarely plays that game.

The awakening

FROM BUD TO BLOOM

Spring arrives with a sky that recalls 2024.

The memory of 2024, still fresh. Every eye on the vineyard from the first bud.
Then summer turns. The first grapes speak.
Nature steps in, steady, generous.
Something shifts in the air. Hope returns.
The berries stay small, concentrated.

Less juice, but the yield holds.
The limestone plateau comes into its own: absorbing water when it rains, releasing it slowly when the sun bears down.
The vine drinks from its own reserve.

TESTIMONIES

Nicolas Audebert

"There's a wonderful freshness here, a real aromatic precision, with a tannin touch of extraordinary silkiness."

Stéphane Bonnasse

"It's quite something, really — quite rare, for a wine to have both power and freshness"

Power and elegance, that's what I get from this vintage. The strength is undeniable. And the freshness is still there, completely intact. That's what makes it exceptional.
Stéphane Bonnasse, Technical director

HARVEST TIME

Ripeness came as no surprise. We were ready.

August 28th. The Merlot goes in. No haste, no compromise.
Two hectares a day, plot by plot.
Every block, its own rhythm.

Smaller vats. Nothing betrayed.

In the cellar, the skins are thick and generous.
We take only what the fruit offers.
In the vat room, certainty takes hold: every batch, every plot, all of it worthy of Canon. No hesitation. No compromise.

Surprisingly generous. And yet restrained. Fresh, precise.
Tannins of extraordinary silkiness.

THE RADIANCE OF THE FRUIT

The colour is deep and luminous.
The aromas open on red fruit: rich and fresh, luscious and cool.
Strawberry, blackberry, cherry.
Balsamic floral notes envelop a core that sharpens as it opens: crunchy, juicy, blood-red.
Violet and lilac first. Then black cherry.
Fine herbaceous threads, barely there, add definition and relief.
Freshness runs through the wine from end to end, carried by the saline signature of the limestone.
The tannins, discreet, silky, elegant, hold it all together without adding weight.
The fruit spreads wide, sustained by a persistent tension that stretches the finish and keeps it bright.
Solar depth. Freshness preserved.

The Mighty Bloom. A Canon of sovereign breadth.
